Welcome to Fairbanks Alaska and Alaska Skies Aurora Tours!
Nestled along the placid Chena River and tucked amongst a northern band of forest called the Taiga, Native Alaskans have long recognized this region as a special area and have created a rich and lasting heritage in this region.
Fairbanks has a rich and colorful past, both culturally and historically. Since its inception with the discovery of gold, Fairbanks has grown to be much more than a gold mining town. It is home to the University of Alaska’s main campus (UAF), which contains the Large Animal Research Station (LARS), the Alaska Museum of the North, and the International Arctic Research Center (IARC). It is a major center for study of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis). In fact, Fairbanks is the number one spot in the U.S., and a top destination worldwide to view the Aurora. It is home to the World Ice Art Championships, the famous Yukon Quest Sled Dog Race, and the jumping off point to all of your adventures in Denali National Park to the South, and the Arctic, to the North.
Alaska Skies Aurora Tours LLC has the experience and the passion to share these unique treasures with you. Our tours literally go the extra mile to ensure you get a taste of what it’s like to live and play in the Last Frontier.
